BEHIND A
Miracle
Since its inception in 2007, BIGHORN Behind A Miracle (BAM) has impacted the lives of more than 100,000 local patients and families facing cancer.
BAM is dedicated to providing critical funding that supports cancer diagnosis, treatment, transportation, research, patient services, and education. To date, the organization has donated more than $15 million to leading healthcare and nonprofit partners, including Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center, The Pendleton Foundation, Desert Regional Comprehensive Cancer Center, Hanson House Foundation, Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire, and Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
In 2023, BAM expanded its mission by partnering with Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire and Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital to help grant life-changing wishes for local children with critical illnesses while also providing funding for much-needed medical equipment. This partnership has helped reduce the number of children waiting for their wishes, bringing hope, joy, and emotional healing to families during some of their most challenging times.
BAM’s commitment extends beyond funding. Through the BAM Van transportation program, BAM has provided more than 48,000 rides and driven over 342,000 miles, ensuring that patients who might otherwise struggle with transportation have reliable access to lifesaving cancer treatments and medical appointments.
This extraordinary fundraising feat is made possible through hard-working volunteers and generous donors who understand the importance of finding a cure for cancer while at the same time adding fun and flair to BAM’s exciting events.

“Together we have transformed another 100,000 lives and made millions more miracles happen. Because of your generosity, lives will be saved; because you care, cancer survivors will live longer; and because of your compassion, cancer patients that need support will have it!”
Selby Dunham, BIGHORN BAM Founder
“The purpose of this is to save lives, and it does. It’s just amazing as a physician to work in a place where philanthropy allows us to deliver the best possible care. It’s a miracle to be able to cure these patients.”
Monica Khanna, M.D. Medical Director of Eisenhower’s BIGHORN Radiation Oncology Center
